First 10 minutes

Before starting, open Accessibility and Camera settings: turn off Camera Shake, lower Motion Blur, and consider QTE Auto Complete and Chase Assist (Insomniac). This game is rated T, so watch the opening yourself first. Nobody on our team has played the opening yet.

Good to know: Rated T: more violent than most games on this site. CSM praises its positive messages and diverse cast. Can I Play That gave it 4 out of 4 for hearing, vision and fine-motor accessibility. Platform differences: PS4, PS5 and PC only (FGD). Insomniac says all accessibility options are on both PS4 and PS5 unless noted; PS5 adds adaptive triggers (can be turned off) and Fidelity or Performance graphics modes. Can I Play That's PS5 review says PS5 system settings let you choose preferences such as difficulty and subtitles once for supported games, and it tested this successfully with Miles Morales.

Sensory scale

Each item is scored from 0 to 3: 0 = None; 1 = Mild, or can be turned off; 2 = Frequent; 3 = Intense and can’t be avoided. “Not enough info yet” means we couldn’t find good evidence, so we didn’t guess. For “Ease of stopping”, a higher score means it’s harder to stop.

Mode: Story (single-player)

What we checkScoreWhy
Flashing or strobe effects Not enough info yet No game-specific source on flashing. PlayStation's general photosensitivity health warning applies. Source for Flashing or strobe effects, Story (single-player)

Still checking: Check Miles's electric 'Venom' attacks and explosions for flashing.

Sudden loud sounds Not enough info yet No source on sudden loud sounds. Separate volume for music, speech, effects and menus, plus a 'Midnight' narrow-dynamic-range listening mode for quieter playback (Insomniac). Source for Sudden loud sounds, Story (single-player)
Timers or time pressure 1 of 3
Mild, or can be turned off
CSM: the biggest challenge is some trials with time limits that need split-second timing. Chase Assist slows fleeing targets (Insomniac); Can I Play That says it removes the fail state from many chases. Source for Timers or time pressure, Story (single-player)
Failure and losing 1 of 3
Mild, or can be turned off
FGD: autosaves frequently with checkpoints. Difficulty can be changed any time (FGD). Source for Failure and losing, Story (single-player)

Scary content and jump scares 2 of 3
Frequent
Rated T: blood when people are shot, a character beaten while tied to a chair, an explosion that kills a character, drug references, and the words 'sh*t' and 'a*shole' (ESRB; CSM). Source for Scary content and jump scares, Story (single-player)
Screen motion and camera speed 1 of 3
Mild, or can be turned off
Insomniac: camera shake can be turned off, motion blur adjusted, and swinging field of view changed; Camera Follow and Combat Camera can help. Fast web-swinging is the core of play. Source for Screen motion and camera speed, Story (single-player)

Still checking: FGD says some motion blur can't be disabled, while Insomniac lists a Motion Blur setting. Please check.
